Sea change for Quantum tackle brand
As the Quantum brand marks its 40th anniversary, it is redirecting its focus onto the saltwater market, expanding on its legacy of top-tier rods, reels and combos.
Embracing this shift, CEO of parent company Rather Outdoors, Ken Eubanks, said: “We are committed to delivering the new standard of performance in saltwater tackle.”
By assembling a team of industry veterans in sales, marketing, product, and brand management with over 150 years of experience in the saltwater tackle business, Quantum says it now has the critical foundation needed to push the brand to new heights.
Mike Rice, Quantum’s senior vice-president, explained: “This team has a proven track record of managing successful saltwater brands and understands what our customers and consumers want. These guys aren’t corporate desk jockeys; they fish and take it seriously.
“‘Tested Beyond Limits’ is more than just a tagline for the brand; it’s how the team operates. Whether field testing on the water or rigorously testing rods and reels in the state-of-the-art facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, nothing is approved until everyone agrees it’s market ready. No compromises.”
Alongside a new logo, branding and products, comes a new headquarters in Stuart, Florida, USA. Close to the customer base, year-round field testing with a great inshore fishery and easy access to offshore waters, Stuart was an easy decision to be the home base.
Quantum is set to release a very focused assortment during ICAST 2024, including two families of reels and combos and one family of rods, for a total of 40 SKUs.
The first couple years of development will be focused on spinning tackle – indeed next year’s product is already in development – but after that the possibilities are endless, says the firm.
Benchmark and Strive reels are each equipped with innovative features and built to the highest quality standards. Both reels are available in sizes 2500-8000 and are offered as combos as well.
Built to catch anything from trout to tarpon, Quantum Benchmark eels are manufactured to the highest quality standards. Strive will be offered in the same six sizes as the Benchmark.
Designed specifically for the inshore market, the Quantum Myth rod series, meanwhile, will offer value across its 10 models.
