Will Italian carp retailer sale be a game changer?

After 40 years of pioneering and successful business, one of the best-known and biggest carp fishing retailers in Italy, La Mincio, is up for sale.

The purchase of owner Luca Foroni’s business assets would present a huge opportunity for an ambitious international group looking to penetrate deep into the Italian fishing market.

La Mincio is widely considered a founding father of Italian carp fishing retail and has a large swathe of data that encompasses the world of carp, spinning and other specialist fishing areas.

The sale is seen as a gateway to the whole Italian market, with particular dominance in the carp sector and online.

Included within the asking price is a dedicated distribution centre, showroom, new retail store option, machinery, stock and operational assets, not to mention key market data and a lake complex.

It was also behind a major Italian fishing show, CarpItaly.

The full package allows for any potential buyer to create an immediate centre of operations in the Italian market with enormous potential for scale growth.

Benjamin Turner of Turner European Consulting, which is providing the corporate finance services and accounting support through its Italian subsidiary, told TTW: “La Mincio is the perfect purchase for an ambitious retail chain, a brand looking for B2B, B2C and expo access, a manufacturer looking for a key site or franchise opportunity in a major European market.

“La Mincio is widely considered the greatest Italian retail name, with goodwill and momentum across the market from consumers to trade, suppliers and manufacturers.

“Should buyers require the creation of a registered Italian entity following purchase of the La Mincio company assets, TECL-TECS will be pleased to provide further corporate finance service support to buyers as appropriate.”

TECL-TECS director Benjamin Turner will personally lead on sale and can be contacted on +44 783 476 4565 or via [email protected] in confidence.
