UK fishing coaches rebadged for the future

A new name and enhanced support will fishing coaches across the UK to deliver an even better service and work more closely with the industry.

The Angling Coaches Association (ACA), formerly the Professional Anglers Association, which was created in 1999, is now able to offer its member coaches even more advice and benefits than before.

ACA board director Paul Forman said: “With everyone being subject to lockdown, the new ACA board has been able to reflect on how angling coaches need to be supported during these difficult times. Therefore, we have created a new ‘group’ membership offer through which angling clubs and larger coaching organisations joining the association can have all their coaches included as ACA members.

“We have also established some fabulous new trade partnerships including Airflo, Snowbee and Donald Cooke (Rod Hutchinson and Bait Tech brands), allowing us to offer a greater range of tackle deal benefits to our membership.

“The change of name was important too. Whilst the Professional Anglers Association has been recognised for years in the angling world, the name was still confusing people as to its purpose. Now renamed as the Angling Coaches Association, we feel that our message is very clear – we are here to support angling coaches in the UK.’

Every ACA member coach will be qualified and licenced through their relevant national angling governing body, providing the assurance that registered coaches have undergone specialist training and passed recognised coaching practical and theory examinations.

ACA members deliver courses in coarse, game or sea angling and many coach in more than one discipline.
