Spanish tackle company up for sale

After many years dedicated to the manufacture and supply of artificial baits including spinners and spoons, Spanish company Lukris SL is set to close due to retirement but it is on the lookout for a buyer.
It said it was a difficult but carefully thought-out decision to close its doors due to the retirement of the founding partners but it believes there may be an opportunity for a buyer to continue the story.
The family firm started from scratch back in 1961 but it has always been about more than business; it has been a dream come true, a story of effort, dedication and a love for fishing.
From its beginnings, it has worked enthusiastically to offer products of the highest quality and trust. Under its own Mapso brand – spanning years of research, innovation and commitment to its customers – it has strived to develop products that not only meet expectations but exceed them, always seeking excellence in every detail.
While Rublex, a French-origin brand dating back to the 1950s, came into the fold in 1990 when Lukris took over its management after the original company closed. Since then, it has kept its tradition and quality alive, adapting it to modern times while preserving its classic and reliable essence.
A statement from the company said: “Now, with this closure, we want to express our hope that someone passionate about fishing sport and eager to continue this tradition can take over Lukris SL.
“The company has always been a family project and we believe that its spirit can live on in the hands of someone who shares our love for this sector and values the quality and history we have built over the years.
“We would love for this tradition to keep sailing into new hands, with the same passion and dedication that have characterised us.
“Thank you to all our customers, friends and collaborators for trusting us and accompanying us on this journey. Although we are closing a chapter, we are confident that the future can bring new opportunities and new dreams for those who wish to continue with the passion for sport fishing.”
