Japanese trade gets set for huge Yokohama show

The giant Yokohama Fishing Fest event is set for an even bigger and better return in the new year when it is held at Minatomirai Pacifico Yokohama from January 16th to 18th.
A record 260 companies will grace the show floor throughout the three days, with highlights including the new product showcased, talks and demonstrations by top anglers and a trout fishing experience.
The event will also see the return of the Fishing Shrine, which was introduced for the first time last year, where anglers can pray for a year of good catches and safe fishing trips under the protection of Iseyama Kotaijingu Shrine, the main shrine of Yokohama.
The event is organised by the Japan Fish and Tackle Manufacturers Association (JAFTMA) and is expecting more than last year’s attendance of almost 36,00 visitors.
The show is open from midday to 5pm on the Friday, January 16th and from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday, January 17th and 18th.
