The Fly Company to distribute Cortland in Northern Europe
Cortland Line Company has appointed Denmark-based The Fly Company as its new distributor for Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
The US-based fly and fishing line manufacturer becomes the latest high-profile brand name to be added to The Fly Company’s portfolio of top fly-fishing brands, which currently includes Renzetti, Winston, Bauer, Nautilus, Tiemco, Hareline, Wapsi and Temple Fork Outfitters, along with a recent deal for RaidZap and Lagartun.
Simon Jefferies, Cortland’s international sales manager, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Fly Company to grow sales in Europe.
“The partnership will mean that retailers in Scandinavia and Northern Europe will have easy access to all of our existing products as well as new fly lines that we are developing jointly with The Fly Co to cover specific Nordic angling.”
John Petermann, CEO and partner at The Fly Co, added: “We needed a fly line brand in our portfolio together with our rods and reels, and Cortland was a natural choice for us.
“Cortland is American-made and a very well-known brand for most fly fishermen around Europe. We are looking very much forward to working with Cortland around new products and supplying our dealers across Europe.”
