The 25th world carp event proves to be a classic

The World Carp Classic celebrated its 25th anniversary with spectacular success at Lac de Madine, France, bringing together hundreds of competing anglers from 27 countries, including the USA, South Africa, New Zealand and representatives from across Europe.

The event also witnessed unprecedented backing from the trade, with renowned global brands like Shimano and Lowrance extending their substantial support.

These industry giants recognised the event’s significance in the world of carp fishing and seized the opportunity to connect with enthusiasts and showcase their latest products.

There were a wide range of other event sponsors including Reuben Heaton, which has provided the official event competition scales since 1998, alongside section sponsors K- Way, Dynamite Baits, Meus, The Ultimate Products, PB products, Specimen Baits, Nikl Carp Specialist and Tribal Shimano.

With 27 countries represented, the World Carp Classic served as a truly international gathering of carp anglers. Teams from across the globe converged at Lac de Madine, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and competition that transcended borders. This diversity highlighted the universal appeal of carp fishing and the sense of community it fosters.

The World Carp Classic’s 25th-anniversary edition made a significant impact on social media platforms, amassing an astounding reach of over 1.5 million users over the event’s nine days.

Thousands of hours of video footage were watched, showcasing the excitement and skill on display at Lac de Madine. This digital presence allowed fans and enthusiasts worldwide to immerse themselves in the event and experience the thrill of carp fishing.

Trade partners capitalised on the event’s global audience by using it as a platform to showcase their latest products and innovations. Their presence added a dynamic dimension to the competition, providing attendees with first-hand experience of cutting-edge fishing gear and accessories.

The World Carp Classic's 25th-anniversary edition culminated in a nail-biting climax, with numerous teams vying for the title and a share of the impressive £70,000 prize table.

The competition remained intense until the very last minute, keeping spectators and participants on the edge of their seats.

Ultimately, though, it was the team from the Czech Republic, Radek Bis, Karel Racak, and Rostislav Masopust, who emerged victorious, securing the title and their place in the history of the World Carp Classic.
