Seaguar looks to reel in assistant sales manager

Seaguar, a world leader in fluorocarbon fishing lines, is looking to recruit an assistant sales manager to boost the company’s growth in the USA.
The firm, part of Kureha America, says the role will be to help it develop and implement sales operations and activities to maximise sales of Seaguar products using a variety of business concepts, best practices and procedures for retail markets.
The successful candidate will need to rely on previous sales experience and judgments to plan and accomplish company sales goals and will work directly with the national sales manager, assistant marketing manager and supply chain team to ensure goals for sales operation efficiencies are met.
In addition, they will collaborates with pthe roduct development and sales team to ensure the success of new product launches. As a result, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected while the job will also require some communication with manufacturing and headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
Key responsibilities include managing sales for regional distributors and retailers with sales rep agencies and the internal Seaguar team, visiting customers with sales reps to gather information, propose new opportunities to increase sales through strategic and measurable means, obtain internal approval from senior management,and implement them in conjunction with sales reps and customers.
They will also need to coordinate with customers, sales reps and the supply chain team to resolve any sales order discrepancies promptly as well as working alongside accounting to periodically review customer accounts and engage as needed to support timely and complete collection of accounts receivable.
The role requires a minimum four-year college degree and at least four years of relevant experience plus familiarity and experience within the fishing tackle industry, preferebaly in saltwater fishing tackle, not to mention the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Experience working with Asian (ideally Japanese) companies is a plus while knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems is essential.
While this is a remote-based position, the company has primary offices in Louisville, Kentucky and Houston, Texas and plenty of travel will be required.
