Confluence 2024 aims to elevate fly fishing industry
This October, the heart of the fly fishing industry will converge in the vibrant city of New Orleans for Confluence 2024, set to take place on October 22nd and 23rd at the historic Hotel Monteleone.
This year’s event, organised by the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA), promises to be more than just an industry summit – it’s a gathering of minds, a forum for innovation and a celebration of the industry’s future.
Under the theme “Same Name, Different Confluence,” the two-day event is designed to inspire and empower fly fishing professionals at every level.
Insights and discussions
Day one, October 22nd, kicks off with a full day of discussions and panels, where environmental preservation and industry analytics take centre stage.
Attendees will also gain exclusive insights from AFFTA’s State of the Industry Report (powered by TrackFly), followed by roundtable sessions where industry leaders will advocate for transformative changes in the sector.
The day culminates with a special happy hour featuring renowned chef Ryan Prewitt, blending the culture of New Orleans with the spirit of the fly fishing community.

The following day, the focus shifts to education, with sessions that promise to deepen your understanding of retail strategies, global economic trends and the policies shaping the industry.
Led by industry experts, these sessions are crafted to provide actionable insights that can be directly applied to your business, whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out.
AFFTA executive director Lucas Bissett said: “Confluence 2024 is more than just an industry summit – it’s a chance to connect, learn and lead. “Don’t miss out on this opportunity to equip yourself with the tools and connections you need to make a meaningful impact on your business.”
