Angling Trades Association seeks sales and marketing manager

The UK’s fishing industry body, the Angling Trades Association, has seen its workload increase significantly as the organisation develops and it is now seeking a full-time sales and marketing manager.

The hybrid role is seen as an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to assume a lead role in the coordination and management of future ATA plans.

The role will include marketing and sales of ATA and ATA brands (including Take A Friend Fishing (TAFF), National Fishing Month (NFM) and other future concepts), including management, planning and execution of projects.

Candidates will work to a general plan of development based on quarterly strategy meetings with ATA board members and be supported by ATA administration and specific senior ATA members throughout. A knowledge of the UK angling industry and fisheries would be preferred but is not essential for the right candidate.

Candidates should be proficient in marketing and development of brands and familiar with promotional platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik Tok, WordPress, email templates, Mail Chimp, QR codes and other elements. Candidates must be comfortable with both face to face and online meetings via platforms such as Teams and Zoom and be capable of chairing or hosting same.

This is essentially a hybrid role with candidates working from home but also required to travel around the UK to attend events, meet with ATA business partners and industry stakeholders and attend regular meetings with ATA senior staff.

An initial 12-month contract with six-month review for both parties is suggested followed by an agreed rolling contract thereafter.

Basic salary will be around £30-£40,000 commensurate with experience and to include expenses. A further element of commission is also available based on development targets including growth of ATA membership.

Candidates should submit a full CV, along with any other information that may be of benefit, to: [email protected]
