Groundbreaking sustainability series launched on podcast

The Sustainable Angler podcast, hosted by sustainability consultant and fly-fishing enthusiast Rick Crawford, has launched a four-part series – The Rise of Sustainability Regulations – featuring environmental law expert James Pollack.
With new federal and state-level sustainability regulations accelerating across the US, this series is said to be essential listening for leaders in the fishing, outdoor, and consumer goods industries who want to stay ahead of the regulatory curve – and protect both their business and the planet.
Host Rick Crawford explained: “Sustainability is not going away, and brands who embrace sustainability have an opportunity to gain a distinct competitive advantage. We created this to help brands better understand what’s coming and how to respond with confidence.”
The series kicks off with a look at PFAS or ‘forever chemicals’, what they are and where they are hiding and is followed by an episode focused on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging and textiles, a must-listen for brands that package or manufacture products.
In Climate-Related Disclosures, the podcast unpacks the latest climate risk reporting rules from SEC (the Securities and Exchange Commission) and California that require businesses to disclose their carbon footprint as well as how to measure it.
The final episode (which drops on June 20th) looks at Green Marketing Claims, helping businesses understand how the Federal Trades Commission’s Green Guides and new scrutiny on green marketing claims are changing the rules of sustainability marketing.
Each episode is designed to simplify complex regulations, highlight what’s relevant for small and mid-sized brands, and offer actionable guidance to mitigate risks while finding new business opportunities.
James Pollack, an attorney at Marten Law, specialises in environmental law with a focus on chemicals, climate, and sustainability regulations. His deep expertise makes him a go-to resource for brands navigating today’s evolving legal landscape.
