Westin and Kinetic strengthen in UK and Eire

Fast-growing Danish fishing brand Westin has significantly boosted its United Kingdom and Eire team with a new sales agent and additional ambassadors in a move signalling their intent.

Gareth Whittington has become Westin and Kinetic’s sales agent for the United Kingdom, expanding his current role for the company in the Republic of Ireland. Gareth brings a wealth of knowledge of the UK angling trade to the team, having previously held several senior roles in the industry.

His appointment underlines the great strides he has made with Westin and Kinetic in the Republic of Ireland. Westin CEO Thomas Petersen Eldor said: “We have a good and long track record with Gareth as sales representative in Ireland and we are very pleased to have him represent Westin and Kinetic in UK in the future.”

In addition, Westin has grown its UK and Eire Pro Team with several key signings designed to broaden its experience and media impact.

Highly experienced lure fishing guide Tim Maslen of Severn Expeditions targets both freshwater and saltwater predators using Westin’s extensive lure fishing range. Several videos demonstrating his trademark tactics on his home ground of the River Severn have received great coverage on social media.

Regular readers of the UK angling media in the UK will be familiar with the name of Andy Black, a regular contributor to specialist magazines, as well as writing a predator column for Anglers Mail. Self-confessed big fish angler Andy has an enviable track-record of catching huge pike, zander and perch on lures and has been at the forefront of promoting modern predator tactics in recent years.

 

Competition lure fishing has grown rapidly and Thom Hunt has been at the vanguard of this trend. Winner of numerous predator competitions, Thom is equally at home boat fishing on huge reservoirs as he is competing on canals as well as being a regular speaker at angling events and running his own predator fishing YouTube channel.
