PROS: Wading on with quality

When it comes to keeping anglers dry and comfortable, Polish manufacturer of quality waterproof clothing, A J Group, has them covered. With a focus on quality and performance, TTW found out more about the company and its products.

As far as waterproof clothing goes, there are really only a handful of manufacturers that can claim to produce quality items. Fishing requires the millions of anglers all over the world to be protected against the elements and use clothing that’s not only fit for purpose but excels in a number of ways.

AJ Group is one such company that has a long tradition in designing and producing waterproof clothing for a variety of industries such as outdoor, municipal services, shipping and commercial and recreational fishing.

The company manufactures from its head office in Poland and employs just over 250 staff, where it is proud to boast that it is the European leader in chest and thigh wader production. The company has customers worldwide, where it supplies clothing items that are used in low or high temperatures and in both fresh and saltwater.

The firm owns a number of brands such as Prop, AquaPros, Glosbe and FIisharp, that include jackets, coats, trousers, thigh and chest waders and other products intended for many other branches of the industry and service sectors while encompassing the leisure market. But it’s the clothing’s quality that makes it stand out from the rest. All components used in the manufacture, such as boots, coated fabric and accessories come from the EU area and all are made with regard to required environment/health regulations for both the EU and US markets, for example, everything is ‘phthalate-free PVC’.

All of the company’s safety, professional and industrial waders are certified in compliance with current EU regulations, which comply to some EN norms, with some also being EU registered designs. The finished products are achieved after a process of improving the quality of the raw materials and manufacturing techniques in laboratories, which then go on to a phase of meticulous testing in very difficult conditions.

AJ Group has taken all of the industrial safety know-how and quality and placed it into the lifestyle and recreational sports such as fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities while catering for ladies, juniors and children under its own clothing brand Fisharp and own fabric brand Flyer Tex.

Flyer Tex

Flyer Tex is a new generation of a lightweight waterproof fabric that is characterised by high elasticity at low temperatures, while remaining extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time. This material meets the requirements of EN 343 norm.

Waders’ Tech Specs

All Fisharp waders are made from a lightweight Flyer Tex fabric, which increases user comfort by optimising the weight of the product. The technique of double-sided high-frequency welding provides 100 per cent tightness of the seams, eliminating any water ingress.
