the number one international fishing trade magazine.

Are you ready for ICAST 2019?

The world’s biggest sport fishing show returns to Florida, USA, this July and it’s a show that you cannot miss.

ICAST 2019 (the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades show) will be welcoming its thousands of visitors from all over the world to see what’s new in the world of fishing this month (July). Last year saw more than 15,000 representatives from both the domestic and international recreational fishing and boating community and this year event organisers are hoping for more of the same. Of course, ICAST isn’t just about the exhibition as there’s plenty to see and get involved with over the course of the event. ICAST is the world’s largest trade show dedicated to the angling industry and will be held from July 9th to 12th at  the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, once again. The event itself is run and coordinated by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA) which, for more than 85 years, has passionately represented the people, policies and ideas that help recreational fishing thrive. The ASA gives the industry and anglers a unified voice when emerging laws and policies could significantly threaten sportfishing business and overall participation.

Over the years the ASA has invested in long-term ventures with a goal to ensure the industry remains strong and prosperous, as well as safeguarding and promoting the enduring economic, conservation and social values of sportfishing in America.

ICAST is what the trade looks forward to each year. Not only is it a great opportunity to catch up with the latest products but it’s also the number one meeting point for everyone in the trade. It’s a key time for exhibitors to meet with their existing customers in a relaxed environment while also striking up new relationships with potential buyers.

There’s so much to see over the week with new products and demonstrations from the industry’s leading brands. The scene is set for 2019, so here’s what’s happening where and when…

Super Tuesday Events

On The Water – Tuesday, July 9th 10am – 2pm

North side of the OCCC’s North/South Concourse across the street from the West Concourse.

ICAST’s expansive product demonstration area for buyers and media is better than ever this year. This event is open to ICAST buyers and credentialed media only.

On the Water is a key destination for buyers and media. It’s a perfect location for ICAST exhibitors to demonstrate their products for dealers and media representatives. To accommodate more buyers and media, On the Water is again being held from 10am to 2pm at the North Building. There are a series of ponds for demonstrating casting and non-motorised fishing vessels. On the Water is an excellent way for buyers, media and other attendees to check out gear, tackle and accessories.

A shuttle service is available between 9:30am and 2pm. and will run every 30 minutes.

  • Two coaches will cycle through the hotel route and drop-off/pick-up at the back of the North Building’s On the Water area.

For those of you that are hungry, food stands will have BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments for purchase. There will also be complimentary beer. Enjoy a cold beverage while supplies last!

ICAST Cup – Industry Bass Fishing Tournament Tuesday, July 9th 6:30am – 10:30am. Big Toho Marina, Lake Toho, Kissimmee

The evnt is presented by FLW (Fishing League worldwide), where each team is paired with a media representative for an action-packed, four-hour bass “fish out” on Lake Toho.

The tournament features great prizes for top teams, with the winners taking home the ICAST Cup. Each member of the winning team will receive a commemorative trophy. The weigh-in will take place at Kissimmee Lakefront Park at approximately 9am. This one-of-a-kind tournament benefits the industry’s angler advocacy programme.

Bass & Birdies Classic Tuesday, July 9th 7am – 2pm Shingle Creek Golf Club, Orlando, Florida

It’s time to shoot some birdies and catch some bass. Florida Sportsman magazine is partnering with the American Sportfishing Association for the return of Florida Sportsman’s Bass and Birdies Classic.

The golf is a Scramble–Best Ball format, meaning teams of four players hit each shot and the best shot is selected. The three other players retrieve their balls and hit from the best position… and the same until the hole is holed out.

However, on four designated holes, one team member will fish in bass hungry lakes while the other three play the scramble. The total length of bass will result in bonus points taken off the final golf score, so it pays to catch bass and make birdies.

The heavy emphasis on fun will include such contests as Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Casting Contests, Beat the Pro and more.
