American Tackle hosts largest rod building competition ever
Component expert American Tackle Company has become the host of the 2021 International Rod Building Competition, the largest such event of its kind.
Participants come from all over the world, making rods with a wide range of themes, from baseball bat handles to candy and, of course, fish.
The firm believes this is a great opportunity to enable custom rod builders to showcase their ingenuity, creativity and craftsmanship and plans are afoot to make it bigger and better than ever, while making this art more exciting and widely recognised.
The competition was founded back in 2015 by the “Munich Rod Man” Mark Crouse and has attracted rod builders from across the globe, including the USA, Taiwan, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Singapore, Austria, Panama, Indonesia, China, Italy, Hungary, Brazil, Spain, Canada and Portugal.
With over five dozen builders signed up so far for 2021, this is the biggest competitive rod building event ever.
American Tackle Company’s sales and technical support head, Don Morse, said: “We are excited to take over as host of this challenge that puts the greatest rod builders in a head-to-head competition to crown the best in the world.”
This year’s event will be judged by a panel of experienced rod builders and industry experts. Judging will take place at the International Custom Rod Building Exposition, with the top 10 rods being judged for the title of Grand Champion.
If the 2021 ICRBE is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, alternative measures will be taken and announced at another date.
If you’re interested in competing this year, entries must be in by August 25th.
