New Dragon Products Expand Their Range

Dragon Fishing has released a number of new products further expanding its ever-growing range. The latest products include a cleverly designed range of tackle bags for the roving lure angler, the Pro Guide X rod range and the Fatboy soft lure range.

TEAM DRAGON X-SYSTEM series tackle bags

The Team Dragon X – System series is made from waterproof nylon type Oxford 2600 with fourfold density that is strengthened by Cordura. All the pockets and main compartments are equipped with reliable YKK zippers with solid protected seams. The X-system is an innovative approach to functionality of the bags offered and also backpacks which were designed on the basic requirements of the very successful Team Dragon series. In the X-system range there are two spinning bags, backpacks and fishing organiser with replaceable bags. The main feature of this system is the fishing organizer that can be attached by belts to the bags and backpacks. It is equipped with functional sealed bags available in three sizes, which are easily interchangeable and inside pockets with zippers. Extra fishing boxes can be bought to complete the tackle set up for different fisheries. The X-system makes packing for the fishery faster and efficient.

Spinning Bag

A lightweight, functional and efficient bag is needed when spinning from the bank or boat. The spinning bag is available in two sizes and has a strong belt with an adjustable length. The bag has eight pockets and a main compartment with boxes. It includes four bigger (27 x 18 cm) boxes for lures and small accessories. Manufactured with a hardened bottom the bag is protected against damage providing durability and longevity.

Pro Guide X Rods

Over the years Dragon’s GUIDE SELECT rod range series gained a good reputation for delivering ultimate control of lures in the best way possible. The second recognisable feature is its looks, dominated by the handle which is made entirely from graphite fibres.

When designing the new generation, under a slightly changed name – Pro GUIDE X – Dragon focussed on maintaining the same level of quality and sensitivity of the rod. With the connection of the Resonance System handle made from stiff graphite, this transfers the feel to the angler allowing true sensitivity to the lure. Out of the three components of the handle, two are thin – walled moulders, made from light and very stiff graphite fibres in woven carbon 3K technology. The design of the series is emphasized by dark red decorative braids and semi – translucent varnish in the same colour. The end of the handle is made from the blend of cork and rubber and a black grip. For the rods components Dragon chose a FUJI handle with partially exposed blank and Alconite K-series guides selected according to the KR-CONCEPT. In comparison to Guide Select series Dragon managed to significantly reduce the weight of the rod without lowering the power. In the blanks of the ProGUIDE X rods such prepregs of Japanese Toray Company were used. These are slim and very strong rods with wide range of applications. Both models available can be used in conjunction with spinning reels as well as multipliers. The added possibility of dismantling the handle facilitates transport of the rods, especially when travelling by aeroplane.

FATBOY PRO – Soft Lures

Dragons latest and extremely versatile soft lure is its Fatboy Pro range. The idea for this soft lure was developed during a discussion about vertical fishing. Dragon decided that now was a great time to launch a big soft lure that would naturally keep the horizontal presentation of the body during lowering and lifting and would impart action on the wide tail type allowing it to ‘wallow’. After some tests the guys at Dragon designed ‘Fatboy’ in sizes 15, 19 and 22 cm that quickly proved effective. The largest in the range, the 22cm version, proved to be the perfect jerkbait, really provoking the pikes in shallow water. It was back in 2017 when Dragon created its first models of the soft lures in the same shape and proportions of construction, designed for the dropshot tactic.
