The company, Europe’s largest privately owned fishing tackle firm, is set to showcase two new brands: Fox Sport Fishing and Fox Rage.
Already a household name across Europe, the innovative, forward-thinking company is selling products in over 30 countries worldwide and specialising in all branches of angling, focusing on innovation and practical designs of top-quality fishing tackle.
The company is interested in talking to retailers and wholesalers about distribution channels for reels and all of its products. Cliff Fox, the company founder and chairman, told TTW: “We are going to ICAST with an open mind. Many of the products we have are innovative and unique, but as we are new to the market the prices we are pitching the products at are attractive and very competitive. The margins we are willing to offer are ‘highly commercial’ and we believe it is an exciting opportunity for any partners we end up working with.”
Every day tens of thousands of anglers across the globe go fishing with Fox International tackle and the company’s success has been built on its ability to innovate and produce unique, quality items. With input from some of the world’s top anglers, skippers and guides, combined with in-house design and CAD product development they deliver cutting-edge technology to ensure anglers are equipped with the very best, because genuine innovation really makes a difference to catches.
This ideology is very much in force with the two latest ventures Fox Sport Fishing and Fox Rage.
The Fox Sport Fishing is a range dedicated to the international sportfisher, and features a diverse range of 16 ‘Trek’ travel rods for the globetrotter who requires a rod which can not only be stowed and transported safely and securely in a suitcase but which can also deliver the goods at the destination; whether fishing for bonefish, tarpon, permit or bigger game and they have already proved themselves in exacting locations with species from tarpon and kingfish to mahseer and stingray.
ICAST will also see the launch of Fox Sport Fishing reels. More than three years have been spent on the design and development and one of the models sees a revolutionary patented concept that the company believes will be hugely successful. The project is still very much under wraps and even TTW was unable to view any of the prototypes, as the company remains adamant that the first chance people will be able to view the reels is on the stand at ICAST.
Andy Little, Fox deputy chairman, told TTW: “I’m genuinely excited by what we have pioneered in the reel market, and included in the 11 models we are showcasing at ICAST is a unique two-speed, high-speed jigging reel which has revolutionary new design features. If that wasn’t enough we have also developed a new clutch system that allows a high drag to be set without losing the control of the fish you are attached to – no matter how big the fish, it really is cutting-edge technology!”
In addition, the Fox Sport Fishing team has looked in detail at some of the hard and trolling lures used offshore – and found them wanting! By employing a combination of science with years of practical fishing experience and ground-breaking design the result is a new generation of 50 surface, sub-surface and trolling baits under the Waverunner and Bellyeye branding. With unique features designed to bring improved strike and hook up rates, the lures are already proven at locations from Cape Verde to the Florida Keys and have accounted for Marlin to over 1000lbs
ICAST also sees the launch of Fox Rage, an innovative lure fishing brand featuring a complete range of tackle for the angler in search of predatory species, from European perch, pike and zander to North American bass and muskie – and many more besides!
With more than 40 top-quality IM6 and IM7 carbon rods catering for all aspects of spinning, jigging, jerking, trolling, dropshotting and baitcasting there is a tool for everyone who loves to fish artificial baits. The range of baits to complement them is comprehensive too, with a huge selection of crankbaits, shads, hardbaits, worms and fish-oil-filled softbaits, with new design features to trigger strikes from even the shyest of predators on the toughest of days.
To demonstrate just how effective the actions of this new generation of rods and baits really are Fox have sessions booked on the casting pool each day of the show so that you can witness them first hand and judge for yourself!
But it doesn’t end there! Rage also features all of the terminal tackle the modern lure angler requires, from jigging accessories to lure boxes, luggage, line, nets, tools and clothing. With much of the range designed and tested by Predator Champion Dietmar Isaiasch there is little wonder Rage is already creating waves in the marketplace.
Having visited ICAST on numerous occasions as a guest, Andy Little is thrilled to finally be there as an exhibitor. “I’m thoroughly delighted to be attending,” he commented. “At Fox we have a genuine passion for the sport and this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase new products which are genuinely innovative aids to angling, in what is a new and exciting field for us.”
